It was the two performances which book-ended the evening that had people buzzing late into the night. Both were tributes to the late David Bowie, the first featuring Grohl, Beck, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and guitarist Pat Smear doing "The Man Who Sold the World," a song famously covered by Nirvana in 1994, and the finale starring Adam Lambert and Jack Antonoff playing "Let's Dance," which brought to life yet another generation's love and admiration of an artist who, as Lambert points out in his interview with Billboard, was "ahead of his time."
