One of the most important bands in world music history, Queen, announce additional Brazil shows in São Paulo and Porto Alegre fronted by legend-in-the-making Adam Lambert.

After 67 completely sold out arena shows across North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, the iconic band Queen + Adam Lambert announce two extra dates for their forthcoming "Don’t Stop Them Now - Queen + Adam Lambert " tour of South America.

In addition to headlining the opening night, September 18, of Rock in Rio, which will celebrate Queen back at the City of Rock 30 years after appearing at the inaugural event, January 11, 1985, Queen + Adam Lambert today announced they will now also perform in São Paulo (Ibirapuera Arena) and Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sol (Gigantinho Arena) on the 16th and 21st of September respectively. Stay tuned for more information on how to get your tickets coming out soon.

“We’re Back !  Rockin’ in Brazil!  Can’t wait!  See ya there, guys!!”, announced Queen guitarist Brian May.

Queen’s drummer Roger Taylor said: "How great to be coming back to South America to rock you even harder than before.”

And singer Adam Lambert added: "I'm so excited to be joining Queen for these dates! This will be a triumphant return for them, and my FIRST time in South America!"

Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of “The Show Must Go On”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland.  They also performed three sold-out shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Teaming again in September 2013, Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road.  Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’.  It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house.  With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”

"Let's ROCK those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!” said Brian May when just months later, in March 2014, Queen + Adam announced a North American tour for the summer of 2014. After announcing an initial 19 dates, five more were hastily added.  Not only did all 24 dates sell out almost overnight but by the end of summer touring period Queen + Adam Lambert were awarded Band of the Year at the 10th annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards as voted by readers of the magazine. Brian May and Adam Lambert were on hand to collect the award in Los Angeles on 4 November, 2014. More recently, Queen + Adam Lambert were voted Best Live Band of the Year in Ultimate Classic Rock’s year round up reader’s poll.

Queen + Adam Lambert topped off 2014 by performing to an audience of over 12 million TV viewers when they were especially selected to perform live for UK BBC Television’s New Year’s Eve spectacular Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben. In the subsequent 24 hours ‘Adam Lambert’ was the top of the trending searches on Google in the UK with more than 500,000 searches for his name.  Queen’s latest album Forever leapt back up the charts and the band’s Greatest Hits album returned to the Top 40 album chart.

Entering the New Year, Q + AL kicked of 2015 in almighty fashion with 26 sold-out concerts in 10 countries throughout the UK and Europe taking their critically acclaimed show to France, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Poland bringing their world tour which began in the US in June 2014 almost to a complete circle.

Now Queen + Adam Lambert head for Brazil with the band’s biggest show yet.

“I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” says Lambert. “Sharing the stage with Brian and Roger for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I'm honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory; he's a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know these dates will be another huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display.”

Queen

Queen has amassed a staggering list of sales, awards, and hall of fame inductions that is second to none. Record sales in the hundreds of millions of units, including an unprecedented string of number one albums and top-charting singles, continue to put Queen in the top ten of all-time iTunes sales. Last year Queen were officially recognized as the first artist ever to sell over six million copies of an album in the UK with their Greatest Hits collection originally released in 1981, beating even the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper by close on a million copies, pointing to the astonishing fact that at least one in three households in the UK now own a copy of the band’s original Greatest Hits collection.  Originally released in October 1981, the Greatest Hits album also achieved the record of spending over 1,422 weeks on the British album chart.

With their sterling song craft, virtuoso musicality, and colossal spectacle of their live performances, Queen – Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon - captured hearts and conquered charts like no other band in history, a legacy that continues to live through the ongoing work and concert performances by May and Taylor, now joined by Adam Lambert.

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Adam appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE. Adam has just completed a brand new album, writing and working with the production team of Shellback and Max Martin (Max is responsible for 19 #1 US hits, and Billboard’s “Producer of the Year”). The first single, “Ghost Town” is released April 20, and the album “The Original High” follows this summer.

*Further Latin America dates are expected to be announced.
