Adam Lambert is championing Freddie Mercury’s rock ’n’ roll legacy.
Can American Idol star Adam Lambert fill Freddie’s boots on Queen’s European tour?

When Adam Lambert auditioned for the 2009 season of American Idol, he demonstrated Freddie Mercury-like power by singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The judges were impressed, as were remaining Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, who later joined runner-up Lambert for an Idol performance of “We Are the Champions.”

The right chords were struck as Lambert found himself invited to play several dates with Queen starting in 2012. Dubbed the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour, it was extended last year throughout North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan.

Luckily for fans, the collaboration continues in 2015 from Jan. 13 through February, with Queen and Lambert scheduled for a 25-city tour to the U.K., France, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

“Each time we’ve worked with Adam with our music, he’s just the most incredible frontman,” Taylor says. “He’s sensational. He has this amazing range, ’cause Freddie had a great range.”
